TV Package

I produced this TV package for the NCTJ Video Journalism for Digital Platforms coursework based on my Gareth Roberts story for MerseySportLive.

It includes an opening and closing piece to camera, narration, an on-camera interview, audio interview and b-roll footage, all of which is original work. It was filmed using my iPhone 17 Pro, and the closing piece to camera was shot with my friends who attended the event and helped me with the filming process. Audio was recorded using a Sennheiser Wireless clip-on mic provided by LJMU. And the package was edited using Adobe Premiere Pro.

This was my first TV package, so I faced several challenges and learnt several lessons. One issue is the prevalence of background noise from filming outside on a busy street, so either choosing a quieter location or learning how to reduce it will be something I take into consideration. The same applies to filming the talk: the speaker did not have a microphone, and the room had an echo, so learning to address this will be important. I would also film more b-roll footage, longer duration and more angles, as this would allow for cleaner cuts. This would have been especially beneficial in this case, as the interview with the organiser was audio-only, so b-roll had to be used for visuals.
