PSG vs Bayern Munich - Match Report
Paris Saint-Germain beat Bayern Munich in a 5-4 thriller at the Parc des Princes in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.
The scoring opened in the 17th minute with Harry Kane sending PSG keeper Matvei Safonov the wrong way from the penalty spot, with a calm finish into the bottom right corner, after Luis Diaz won the penalty off a clumsy challenge from Pacho.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia levelled the match for PSG in the 24th minute after cutting onto his right foot and curling the ball into the bottom right corner.
The 33rd minute saw Joao Neves take the lead for the Parisians with a glancing header from the front post off Dembele’s corner.
Olise levelled the game for Bayern in the 41st minute with a powerful finish just inside the box from the centre of the goal, with Safonov barely able to react.
In the added time of the first half, Alphonso Davies fell victim to a harsh handball decision, with VAR ruling for a penalty kick, which Dembele placed just out of reach of Neuer to regain the lead.
Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring in the second half, arriving at the end of Achraf Hakimi’s cross in the 56thminute for his second, making it 4-2 to the Parisians.
Dembele then got his second of the night to make it 5-2 in the 58th minute with a disguised finish, catching Neuer off guard.
Upamecano got one back for the Germans, with a straightforward header on the back post following a free kick in the 65th minute.
In the 68th minute, Diaz got Bayern back in the tie with an excellent finish following a superb pass from Kane.
PSG will travel to the Allianz Arena for the second leg of the tie on May 6.
